Charlie St. Cloud

Charlie St. Cloud - Ben Sherwood The Death and Life of Charlie St. Cloud can only be described as a heart-warming piece about losing something you love and then finding yourself again. By day, Charlie is a groundskeeper for the cemetery where his brother Sam is buried. At night, he fulfills a promise he made on the other side to his dying brother Sam, who hasn't left Charlie behind to move on. Then a violent storm brings him Tess, a woman with big plans to sail around the world. And Charlie realizes he has to begin making choices to truly live his life. I really loved this book. Ben Sherwood did a great job at inviting you in to the characters' lives, and gives you a twist that takes you a bit by surprise at the end, something that makes you think, "Oh yeah, that DOES make sense, why didn't I see it?" You feel for Charlie, Tess and Sam, and you want nothing more than for them to have everything they desire. When an author tugs at your heart-strings like that, you know they've done a great job.
