I will preface this by saying that I do enjoy Nora Roberts and she is probably one of my favorite authors. However. Sometimes (okay, often) I feel like she has a computer template with a general plot filled out, and she just comes up with a theme, characters and a setting and "plugs them in." This is one of those times. Woman who suffered the loss (however it happened) of her significant other long ago and avoids relationships? Check. Reluctant male who is secretly tender-hearted but rough around the edges? Check. Antagonist out to kill protagonist? Check. Extras to fill in the gaps? Check, check & check. This could have been a better story if Roberts thought outside of her box. It was no page turner, but still worth a read....eventually. I was disappointed.
